St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, New Jersey, opens new LED-outfitted surgical center.Institutions around the country have embraced LED fixtures such as LED rigid light bars as a means of reducing their impact on the power grid, and one New Jersey hospital has gone the extra mile to prepare for the future. According to The Daily Record, St. Clare's Hospital in Denville has recently completed a $14 million surgical pavilion that features LED lights in every operating room.

"The new surgical pavilion is the culmination of two years of extensive planning and construction to transform St. Clare's surgical capabilities," Leslie D. Hirsch, president and chief executive officer at St. Clare's Health system, told the news source. "This new facility will provide the latest in leading edge surgical technology."

Along with significantly reducing its energy consumption with LED lighting, the hospital has also installed touch-screen monitors that support all of the tech systems, as well as give physicians access to radiology images in every operating room during surgery.

Business owners can implement these energy-efficient technologies into their own facilities with LED T8 tube lights. These fixtures will use less than half of the energy spent by fluorescent fixtures and will conveniently install into existing ballasts.
